National Eye Research Centre is a leading eye research charity that funds research into the causes of and treatments for eye disease, sight loss and blindness. The results of that research are published in order to stimulate further research advances in ophthalmology.

Two million people in the UK are currently living with a significant degree of sight loss yet only 2% of all medical research funding is directed at eye disease and sight loss. Sight is the sense that people fear losing the most but large research grants are often directed at other disease groups, like cancer, heart disease and diabetes. Blindness is generally feared second only to a cancer diagnosis but receives a fraction of the investment to combat it. We urgently need your help to correct this under-investment in eye research.

Every gift, no matter how small, brings the day closer when another eye disease becomes treatable. Please make a donation now.
